Dahej to Vapi on the Western Railway

Tuesday, 4 April 2017

The trip from Dahej to Vapi is best done by rail. The Baruch train station is about a 45 minute drive from Dahej, and the train to Vapi takes about 2 1/2 hours. It’s a pleasant journey.

Indian Railways has a nice website that not only tells you your car and seat number, but shows you where that car is on the train. We’re in car H1 on train 12926.
Baruch is a fairly large train station (5 platforms). The sign shows where each car will stop. It says “H1” in  Hindi. (So we’re in the right place!)
The Baruch train station had a mini street-sweeper to help control dust on the platform.
From the train, the new boiler and smokestack at WestRock’s Morai mill really stands out. This photo was taken through a relatively clean, but still spotty, train window.
